Allen, a 2 year old boy, exhibits excess plantarflexion and needs a device that will encourage full-contact standing during school-based therapy activities. Allen wears a pair of pre-fabricated JumpStart Kangaroo orthoses to block excess plantarflexion and encourage active dorsiflexion. This video shows the entire bracing process -- from patient assessment to sizing to fitting and adjustments, and finally, evaluation of fit and function. Cassidy: Swing Phase Inconsistency

This video follows a pediatric physical therapy session with 8-year-old Cassidy, who presents with hemiplegia. Cassidy wears a DAFO Tami2 orthosis on her affected side to encourage voluntary control of her swing phase inconsistency. Diane: Hyperextension

This video, narrated by the patient's pediatric physical therapist Gay Burton, follows 3-year-old Diane during a PT session. Diane has a diagnosis of cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia) and has spasticity in her lower extremity. Her ankles are in a plantarflexed position and she hyperextends her knees for stability. Diane wears a pair of prefabricated plantarflexion block orthoses (Cascade Dafo's JumpStart Kangaroos). The video includes explanation of various PT exercises during a typical session with Diane.

Ellen: Low Tone Pronation

This video follows Ellen, a 2-year-old girl with Down syndrome, during a pediatric physical therapy session. Her physical therapist, Jill Smith, narrates the video and talks about the purpose of various PT exercises shown throughout the session. Includes commentary and tips for working with toddlers. Ellen is wearing a pair of Cascade Dafo's prefabricated UCBL-style shoe inserts, the Fast Fit PollyWog (the PollyWog product has since been updated and replaced by the Fast Fit Chipmunk) to help control her low tone pronation. The shoe inserts provide increased stability and help improve Ellen's gait, especially while walking on uneven surfaces.
