Case study | 4 yr. old boy - moderate crouching | DAFO FA

This case study video follows a young patient with a diagnosis of Spina Bifida. Jaxon, age 4, exhibits pronation and excess dorsiflexion. He receives a pair of custom fabricated DAFO FA orthoses. When initially fit with his new DAFOs, it's clear that the dorsiflexion angle of the braces, when worn with shoes, is too aggressive. The braces are remade for an improved outcome. This video is narrated by Cindy Diener, CPO.

The patient is wearing the DAFO FA -- a custom-fabricated brace with wrap-around control and a high instep trimline that gently blocks excess dorsiflexion.
