Take our New Online Course and Earn Free CEUs

April 20, 2016

Our newest online courseUsing DAFOs in Treatment Plans for Patients with Cerebral Palsy – has just been approved for 2.5 Scientific CEUs by ABC (American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics).

This complimentary course goes well beyond the basic use of a DAFO®. In a video recording of a live presentation, Keith Smith, CO, LO, FAAOP, and Dr. Janice E. Brunstrom-Hernandez, board-certified pediatric neurologist, co-present to provide a compelling view of how DAFOs can be used in treatment plans for patients with cerebral palsy.

Keith and Dr. Jan, as her patients like to call her, worked together for many years at the renowned Cerebral Palsy Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Dr. Jan is passionate about helping children with CP live their best lives, and is a wonderful role model because she has CP herself.

In this two-hour course, Keith shares his vast experience in bracing kids with CP, including bracing goals and pre/post-surgery brace planning. Dr. Jan shares background information on CP and shows you many case studies. And they both share their DAFO-specific insights.

Upon completion of this course, you will:

  • Know the difference between the motor disorders associated with CP.
  • Know the most common bracing goals for many patients with CP and how to plan braces accordingly.
  • Know how to plan bracing that will support a patient who is undergoing surgical or neurological interventions.
  • Know the importance of developing a relationship with the other medical professionals in your area who treat patients with CP.

You can take the curriculum anywhere, anytime, at your own pace.
