A DAFO should fit snugly while avoiding excessive pressure or persistent irritation.
Wear time is gradually increased over several days while monitoring skin condition.
Mild redness that fades quickly may occur, but persistent redness should be evaluated by a clinician.
Wear time depends on the prescribed treatment plan and patient tolerance.
DAFOs and Fast Fit devices may safely be worn during pool time, beach time, at splash parks, etc. They should be cleaned and air-dried per our Brace Care Guidelines before being worn again.
Longevity depends on growth, wear patterns, and activity level. For pediatric patients, a DAFO is usually expected to last a year before growth requires recasting.
Discomfort should be evaluated promptly to assess fit, alignment, or the need for adjustment.
Minor adjustments may be possible depending on design and clinical assessment.

While widely used in pediatric care, selection depends on clinical presentation rather than age alone.
